Welcome!

Greetings in the Mighty Name of Jesus!

As servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, We believe that there is no greater calling nor honor this side of heaven than to be in the service of our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ; which is why we are delighted to declare that as the leaders assigned to this great work,  we are fully committed to its growth and look forward to winning souls,  discipling  them and equipping them to also bring this gospel to their world.

We feel humbled and blessed to have been chosen by God for this challenging yet eternally rewarding work.

Andre & Trudy Ann Davis

THE PENTECOSTALS OF YORKTOWN INTRODUCE TO YOU PASTOR AND SIS DAVIS

Trudy Ann and Andre have been in Christian ministry for most of their adult lives.  Trudy received the Holy Ghost on July 16, 1989, and has not deterred from the path of righteousness but has been an ardent follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The prayer “ thy kingdom come, thy will be done …,” is not a vain repetition for her but is the mantra for her life.  The will and purposes for God in her life are woven through her every life’s decision so it is little wonder that she chose to pursue a career path that has taken her into the lives and homes of those who desperately need to know of this great Salvation.  Trudy holds a master’s degree in social services with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis.  She worked for 10 years in the foster care system, an area of society that desperately needs to know that there is hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Andre received the Holy Ghost in 1993 and has been a steadfast witness for his Lord.  He was also diligent in his studies which led him to pursue and earn a diploma in Business and Finance from the University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica.  This acquired knowledge and training offered him the opportunity to embrace a career in banking where he worked and thrived for more than ten years.   Upon his migration to the United States, he secured a position with the New York City Transit Authority and has celebrated seventeen years of service.  Currently he holds the title of Console Train Dispatcher.

Trudy and Andre were married in Jamaica in April 2004.  Their enthusiasm and love for the work of God continued upon migrating to the United States of America.  They attended and immediately assimilated in the All-Nations Apostolic Tabernacle congregation and assumed roles of leadership where together they worked as Sunday School teachers, Youth Presidents and Evangelism Directors.  Andre’s decision-making abilities but mostly his deep spirituality, love, and enthusiasm for the work of God was evident in all he did.  Pastor Devon Dawson, in recognizing these qualities in Andre, invited him to join the Board of Elders which eventually led him, through a vote from the ANAT congregation, to becoming a trusted member of the Board of Trustees.

According to Charles Spurgeon, people should not covet the role of being a pastor but if the desire to obey God is such that you must preach or die, then the man should definitely answer the call because that sense of urgent commission is one of the central marks of an authentic call.

Andre and Trudy have this authentic call - an intense, all-absorbing desire for the work so they have labored wherever the Lord placed them.   It was while they were still laboring in their assigned roles that God tapped them on the shoulder and called them into this part of the vineyard.

Pastor Andre and Lady Trudy-Ann Davis are the proud parents of Johan and twin boys, John-Marc and Daniel-Marc.

Faith

The basic and fundamental doctrine of the POY is the Bible standard of salvation, which is repentance from dead works, faith toward Jesus Christ as the only true God, who has manifest Himself in the flesh, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

We believe the new birth as recorded in the book of Acts chapter 2, verse 38 is essential for conversion, and the perfecting of love and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Scripture

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

(II Timothy 3:16) We believe that the one God of the Old Testament became the incarnate Jesus Christ of the New Testament, and that He is God eternal. We believe that God, who is holy, desires that each of us has a fruitful relationship with Him. We believe in the imminent return to earth of Jesus Christ as King.

Community

The Pentecostals of Yorktown (POY) is a church devoted to developing a holy consciousness. We believe that worship is something that can be expressed in everything we do.

Our philosophy is deeply rooted in the Holy Scriptures, life’s only guidebook. Whatever your age, gender or race, there is a special place for you at POY.

We offer members a chance to become part of something greater, to grow their love for God and for one another in a beautiful God centered community.
